Yukon | Canada 2013

We spent about five days in the beautiful town of Whitehorse, Yukon. Not many people know that the Yukon is a part of Canada, but it is. In fact, it’s near the Alaskan border. We climbed, did some light hiking (we stood on a rock glacier!), checked out museums, enjoyed our stay at Northern Lights Resort & SPA, and saw some wildlife. Yes, it was an added bonus of gazing up at the northern lights that danced above us like spirits in the sky. I’ve never seen anything like it! The green, white and violet lights scattered across the starry night sky within seconds. The camera’s eye cannot capture this magnificent sight. It’s one of those moments where you have to be there to experience the aurora. Whitehorse is truly a gem of a place in the north, and we hope to visit it once during the winter season for a different change in landscape.
